President's Message

August 2010

Dear Canyon Crest Academy Families,

It is my pleasure to again serve as president of the Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) Foundation.

The CCA Foundation is a nonprofit, parent volunteer organization dedicated to realizing CCA’s educational programs and priorities through financial, volunteer and community support. The Foundation raises the funds necessary to support the spending priorities determined by CCA’s principal and staff, primarily through parent donations. We also collaborate with students, parents, staff and the local community to assist CCA with its volunteer needs, but our primary objective is fundraising.

Our financial goal for the 2010-2011 academic year is to raise more than $800,000 to bridge the gap between public funding and CCA’s needs. The $800,000 will enable our school to continue to offer the exceptional educational opportunities that are the hallmark of CCA.

You have the opportunity to select from among seven giving categories and can also direct your contribution to a specific Envision discipline or athletic team. We will be asking every family with a student who participates in Conservatory, takes an Envision day class or plays a CIF sport to donate towards the cost of their student in that program.

Let me be clear, Envision and each of our athletic team’s very existence depends on funding from your contributions. An overview of Envision donation amounts is included in your Raven Readiness Pack, and donation information, by sport, will be communicated at the team meetings.

Please visit the Foundation’s website at www.canyoncrestfoundation.org for more information on our giving categories, contributing online, volunteer opportunities and our Legacy Wall. As members of the CCA family, I encourage you to become actively involved in one of the finest high schools in San Diego.

Sincerely,

Bob Nascenzi
President, Canyon Crest Academy Foundation
