Brian Baum, head basketball coach at Canyon Crest Academy and former assistant coach at Emory University, along with other Canyon Crest Academy coaches will stress team and player development.

CCA Youth Basketball Summer Camp 2025
The Canyon Crest Youth Basketball Summer Camp is for players of all ability levels. Brian Baum, head basketball coach at Canyon Crest Academy, former assistant coach at Emory University, and collegiate player at Colorado College, along with the CCA coaching staff, will teach the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, ball handling, and defense through station work and games. The camp will be enjoyed by all.

CCA Science Olympiad Summer Camp 2025
The CCA team is the highest performing Science Olympiad program in San Diego, and one of the top-performing teams in the entirety of Southern California. We will be hosting a Science Olympiad Summer Camp right here at CCA the week of June 9-13th. The camp is designed specifically for students Rising 5th-9th graders and will offer hands-on learning, event-specific coaching, and a fun introduction to new and returning events for next season. The camp will cover 4 key areas, Life Science, Environmental and Earth Science, Physical Science, and Inquiry and Engineering. Students will be placed in groups specializing in one of these 4 categories, and will participate in lectures and labs throughout the week.

CCA iGEM camp is an opportunity for pre-high school students interested in pursuing or exploring a STEM career to gain interactive knowledge. Run by CCA students and iGEM team members, students will be taught science topics like biology, synthetic biology, chemistry, and participate in labs to learn in a hands-on environment

The North County Middle School Debate Club is a year long after school speech and debate program for students in grades 5-8. The NCMSDC offers students an introduction to multiple debate formats, judged practice rounds, and the opportunity to compete in online middle school Public Forum tournaments hosted by leading colleges.

The CCA Speech and Debate team is pleased to announce the Raven Forensics Summer Workshops - Summer 2025. The Summer Workshop provides students in Grades 5-8 a unique opportunity to receive coaching in multiple speech and debate events.
The Raven Forensics Summer Workshop program is directed by the Head Coach of Speech and Debate at Canyon Crest Academy, Charlie Synn. Coach Synn competed in Policy Debate in high school and college at Harvard. He will complete his 4th year coaching the Speech and Debate team at CCA.
Classes - or “labs” - will be led by experienced CCA Speech and Debate team members. In the 2021-2022 season, the Speech and Debate team competed in over 40 National Circuit, San Diego Imperial Valley Speech League, and California High School Speech Association tournaments. Workshop lab leaders are up-to-date on national trends in their events.

2D Computer Game Design
In a world driven by technology, the ability to code is increasingly valuable and accessible. This camp is for beginners to more advanced students eager to explore coding creatively. This immersive camp introduces participants to programming fundamentals, guiding them through the creation of interactive games using JavaScript and libraries. From novice to game designer, campers will delve into JavaScript basics, mastering variables, conditionals, loops, and functions. Through hands-on coding, they'll craft their own games, honing skills in graphics, user input, mechanics, and collision detection. With a learn-by-doing approach, campers will showcase creations, receive feedback, and collaborate. By camp's end, attendees will have a game project and foundational coding understanding, along with resources for further learning. Whether a student, aspiring developer, or coding enthusiast, this camp is your portal to the captivating realm of programming and game design, where ideas morph into interactive realities on screen.
