Dear Canyon Crest Academy Community,
As President of the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation (CCAF), here is an important update regarding our Foundation. Over the past year, CCAF has collaborated with the San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) Board to provide all necessary information for the completion of an audit of all SDUHSD foundations by their outside accounting firm, CWDL. This audit is now complete, and the results have been shared with the community.
Trust is built on transparency and accountability, and in that spirit, the CWDL Audit Report is available for your review on the Foundation website. A financial audit is standard practice for nonprofit organizations, providing an impartial and transparent review of financial records to ensure the Foundation operates with integrity. CWDL’s audit report confirms that CCAF’s financial statements have been deemed reliable.
The audit also listed several findings that CWDL determined were relevant to SDUHSD’s oversight of CCAF’s financial reporting process. CCAF is committed to continuous improvement, and we have already taken steps to correct and strengthen our operations during the past school year. We are actively developing a corrective action plan based on the District audit, and we will continue to keep the community informed.
